The judging panel of the 2nd Leg of Tenzor International Cup – J/70 Open Winter Series 2024/2025 will include judges and umpires from Turkey and Germany.
The PRO (Principal Race Officer) of the competition, Can Giray is one of the key specialists in the Turkish Sailing Federation. He is the PRO in J/70 class races in Turkey for about 7 years. He is currently working as National Race Officer for the Turkish Sailing Federation and has taken part in many centerboard, one design and yacht races in Turkey.
German sailing specialist Jules Tronquet will take the position of chief umpire at 2nd Leg, replacing Neven Baran, who serves the SB20 World Championship in Singapore in same dates.
This is the second season for Jules in Tenzor International Cup J/70 Winter Series and he is doing his job superbly. For the past five years, he has been umpiring in the German, Polish, and Austrian national leagues, as well as the Sailing Championship League and other championships. He is a member of the appeals committee of the German Sailing Federation. Last year he has been appointed World Sailing International Umpire, focused on Umpired Fleet Racing.
One more German umpire Luca Jost will assist Jules Tronquet and Can Giray in the upcoming regatta. He is an active sailor in J/70 and Waszp. Among the major events of his job as umpire there are Sailing Champions League, German League, Berlin Team Race, Finn German Championship and Melges 24 Croatian Championship.
Umpires and assistants from Turkey Utku Balkal, Gokhan Caner, Serap Sari, Nursel Kirabali, Okay Ozceviz, Ege Ozceviz, Utku Temirkan will complement the judging panel of the second stage of the Tenzor International Cup Series 2024-2025.
