Happyhour JR team skippered by Erman Ayvaz is ready to join the big fleet of upcoming regatta. The team is focused on building consistency and climbing the leaderboard in the events this season. Participation in J/70 Worlds and Cope Del Ray in Palma have tested the teamwork and tactical decisions last year in competitive level of the fleet and also in the tricky conditions. Another interesting event was J/70 Europeans, and J/70 Italy Leg in Cala Galera where they had to adapt to completely different weather patterns, which pushed the crew outside our comfort zone. These experiences have given Happyhour JR team great momentum going into the rest of the season. The crew staff for upcoming regatta includes Erman Ayvaz, Onur Bilgen, Umut Efe Alpkocak and Nadir Burcin Aytunc.
Erman Ayvaz (helmsman and owner): «We’re aiming to keep raising our game with every event and build strong team synergy along the way. Our crew this season is a mix of familiar synergy and fresh energy. We’ve kept part of the core team from last year, which gives us a solid foundation in terms of communication and trust on board. At the same time, about half of the crew is new this season, bringing fresh perspectives, strong technical skills, and a lot of motivation. The dynamic has come together surprisingly quickly, and are excited to see how well everyone will be gelling. With this balance of experience and new energy, we’re feeling confident and ready to take on the challenges ahead. One of my brightest impressions from the winter season at the Tenzor International Cup 2023/2024 was the incredible mix of intense competition and challenging conditions. The racing area with high winds and waves was a real adrenaline rush and pushed us to focus more. Beyond the racing itself, the energy of the fleet, and the professional atmosphere of the event made it an unforgettable experience. Our main goal for upcoming regatta is to deliver consistent, high-level performance throughout races. We want to focus on clean starts, and strong teamwork on board. We haven’t been racing together on water for a while so this will be a good opportunity to warm up. Of course, we’re always racing to win but for me, it’s just as important to stay mentally sharp, adapt quickly to changing conditions, and keep learning from every race. If we can sail smart and stay focused, I believe the results will follow!»
