Batu Özonur: «Our team is really open to development and aggressive. Our common goal is to remind and show young people what they can do when given the opportunity. My friend from the national team, Cem Boren Koçer, is on the 3rd position. Oğuzhan Özkaya, a Marmara sailing club athlete, is on the 4th position and Mert Çalışkan, a former surfer who actively competes in Farr40, is on the 2nd position. We are a very special team that is open to development. Last year, we became the champion in the Corinthian overall in the J70 Türkiye Tour. This year, we want to maintain our place and rank in the general classification and we are currently very excited about the Corinthian European Championships, where we will go as a team just before Tenzor International Cup & Tour of Türkiye.
I think being a sailor is something special, it is a lifestyle for me. Since my family is a sailor, I have been at sea since I was 5 years old, it is very important for me, of course, doing everything to win and experiencing emotions is very valuable for me. It may be because we are young, but we love competition and winning».
