Turkish sailing teams are actively participating in Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025, maintaining high competition level and increasing the fleet. The upcoming season will be no exception and will host at least a dozen local sailing teams.
AMEERA JET sailing team skippered by Emir Icgoren is one of the strongest in the country. Four-times Turkish champions, multiple prize-winners of national Series, bronze medalists of the Monaco Sportboat Winter Series have extensive experience of participating in European and world championships (the best result was 7th place at the J/70 World Championship in 2016). The team will take part in the Tenzor International Cup winter series 2024-2025 for the first time, but is ready to fight for the TOP-positions.
Emir Icgoren: «Our team consists of experienced sailors and 470 Sailors, who are also dedicated to racing as a team in J/70. The most important aspects of sailing for me are consistency, achieving long-term success, and winning as a team. Since Tenzor International Cup is an international regatta, we can race with very experienced sailors. Also, the quality of races is at global standards. And the event is full of attractions. Our main goals are push ourselves until the end and gain some improvements within the competitive series. The last developments sailing in Turkey are remarkable: great sponsors have entered the sport, and I think the number of sailors has also increased with the increasing popularity.
